Young man charged with terrorism in knife attack that killed 3 girls in England

LONDON — The teenager accused of a stabbing attack that killed three girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in England has been accused of producing the deadly poison ricin and now faces terrorism charges, police said on Tuesday.

Merseyside Police say 18-year-old Axel Rudakubana He is accused of killing three girls He stabbed 10 more people in July, resulting in the production of the deadly poison ricin, which was later found in his home.

Ricin is derived from the castor plant and is one of the world’s deadliest toxins. There is no known vaccine or antidote and it kills cells by preventing them from making proteins.

Police Chief Serena Kennedy said Rudakubana also had an Al Qaeda jihad training manual.

Police emphasized that the production of ricin is considered a terrorist crime, but the stabbing attack in July was not classified as a “terrorist incident” that would require the motive to be known.

Rudakubana, who police say was born in Wales, was facing three counts of murder in July over the deaths of 9-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar, 7-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe and 6-year-old Bebe King in the seaside town of Southport in northwestern England.
