Wayne woman pleaded no contest to charges stemming from friend’s fatal fall from vehicle

SOUTHFIELD, MI — A 24-year-old Wayne woman pleaded no contest Monday to charges connected to her friend’s death last year. According to Fox 2 Detroit. Kentia Fearn made a defense statement on charges of leaving the scene of a fatal accident and operating while intoxicated, regarding the incident that occurred on June 3, 2023.

Fearn is accused of leaving the scene after her friend, 23-year-old Mia Kanu, fell from the vehicle Fearn was driving. The two were traveling along Providence Drive after a party when Kanu fell out of the vehicle. Fearn did not stop and reported the incident to the police, leaving Kanu on the road.
