KINGSTON, Jamaica — Campion College’s school fraternity mourned the horrific accident that claimed the life of one of its students on Tuesday.

His second former pupil, Rashad Richards, a member of the school’s rugby team, died when he reportedly fell on a goal post.

Principal Lavare Henry said in a statement shortly after the incident: “With deep sadness and a heavy heart, we come together as a community of faith to share devastating news. Earlier today, we lost sophomore Rashad Richards to a tragic accident on our campus. “Our hearts and prayers go out to Rashad’s parents, family and everyone who cares about him during this unimaginably difficult time.”

“In times of such profound loss, we draw strength from our faith and each other. As an Ignatian community, we are called to be men and women for others, and now more than ever we must support each other with love, compassion and prayer,” Henry added.

The principal said the guidance department, supported by counselors from other institutions and chaplain staff, would hold special sessions for students in Richards’ class, their teachers, members of the rugby team and other students who were present at the time of the incident. accident.
