Jamie Kadolski denies all sexual crimes against him

A man accused of multiple rapes said he could not identify anyone because he was sexually abused as a child, a court heard.

Jamie Kadolski, 24, of Ladysmith Road, Norwich, is charged with 13 sexual offenses said to have been committed against four women over an 18-month period.

During his defense, Mr Kadolski said he was in a “loving relationship” with one of the complainants, whom he met through an online dating app.

Mr. Kadolski denies the accusations and said all sexual activity was consensual. The trial continues at Norwich Crown Court.

Giving evidence, the 24-year-old said he met one of the complainants on online dating site Tinder and was looking for “short-term fun” there.

Mr Kadolski told the court the complainant sent the first message and the relationship became sexual on the first date.

He said he met her family and it was a “pretty standard loving relationship” and that he never had non-consensual sex with her.

Mr Kadolski told the court he was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Asperger syndrome, dyspraxia and autism spectrum disorder in 2010, but those conditions did not affect his understanding of consent.

Mr Kadolski was charged with 15 sexual offences, but on two charges the jury was told he had no case to answer.

The charges include four allegations of rape against a woman between August and December 2022.

‘I’m not the best at empathy’

The jury heard that Mr Kadolski was interviewed by police three times between November 2023 and April 2024, where he denied all the allegations made by the complainants.

When questioned by officers, he said he did not like the idea of someone being arrested for being “sexually abused as a child”.

When asked by officers if there had been any argument with one of the complainants with whom Mr Kadolski was in a relationship, Kadolski said no.

He said he once remembered her crying and hugged her, but told cops, “I’m not the best at empathy and sympathy.”

The court heard he told officers he knew one of the other complainants was living in a facility that supports people with mental health problems.

Mr. Kadolski is charged with two counts of assault by penetration and attempted strangulation with intent to rape or sexual assault.

Other charges include sexual assault and assault by penetration against a second complainant in January 2023.

A third woman is said to have been sexually assaulted in September 2023, while a fourth woman was allegedly raped in January this year.

Mr. Kadolski denies all accusations.
