Investigation into Liam Payne’s death: New details

New details emerged in the investigation Liam Payne’s death.

Among the new details, multiple sources with direct knowledge of the investigation told ABC News police are reviewing CCTV footage showing multiple drug transactions between a dealer and a hotel employee before Payne’s death. Police are investigating whether the hotel employee supplied Payne with drugs, sources said.

Payne is twice seen on CCTV footage sleeping in the hotel lobby with a bottle of whiskey in his hand, sources told ABC News.

Sources say police never believed Payne’s death was suicide or intentional.

Police also detected the presence of two female companions at the hotel in the hours before Payne’s death, according to multiple sources with direct knowledge of the investigation.

Payne offered US$5,000 to two female escorts who were allegedly summoned via an app from the lobby of the hotel where Payne was staying at the time of his death. Sources said he did not pay the escorts.

Sources also stated that a Rolex was found missing from Payne’s hotel room.

ABC News has contacted the hotel for comment.

Sources added that Payne’s body is expected to be delivered to his family next week.

According to officials at the British Embassy in Buenos Aires, Payne’s father, Geoff, has been in Buenos Aires since October 18 and is trying to repatriate his son’s body for burial in England. The release of Payne’s body depends on the court’s findings in the criminal case.

Payne died on October 16 after falling from his third-floor hotel room in Palermo, Buenos Aires, according to Argentine provincial police. He was 31 years old.

Emergency services were called to deal with a man who was acting erratically and perhaps under the influence, Alberto Crescenti, director of Buenos Aires Emergency Medical Services SAME, previously told ABC News. Payne’s body was found in the inner courtyard of the hotel and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Crescenti.

A. preliminary autopsy In the report of the Argentine Prosecutor’s Office on October 17, it was revealed that Payne died due to “multiple trauma” and “internal and external bleeding”.

Payne reportedly had twenty-five injuries on his body. The report stated that Payne’s head trauma was sufficient to cause death and that the cause of death was related to the height of the fall.

Argentinian authorities raided the hotel on October 23 as part of the ongoing investigation into the death of the late singer.
