Under the government’s new initiative, your traffic problem in Delhi region will be as easy as using WhatsApp. The Delhi government has announced that traffic alerts and detailed information will be sent directly to violators with the help of WhatsApp. This new system will allow residents to instantly view and pay traffic tickets, providing a more streamlined and user-friendly experience. Here’s everything you need to know:

Push notifications and easy payments on WhatsApp

Currently, traffic fines can be paid online through the Ministry of Transport’s website or app.

However, many people miss notifications and remain unaware of their penalties. The WhatsApp-based service aims to close this gap by instantly informing users and enabling them to pay their fines through a simple link provided in the message.

Perfect system for officials and public

When the new system comes into effect, it will provide convenience to both the public and the authorities. Traffic police and transport department will be able to manage notifications, reminders and challan receipts more efficiently.

It is reported that around 1,000 to 1,500 vehicles are fined for traffic violations every day in Delhi. WhatsApp integration will facilitate this process and reduce the manual workload of enforcement agencies.

Additional ongoing services

In addition to the WhatsApp service, the Department of Transport plans to make the driving license process completely online. Users will soon be able to apply for or renew their licenses without having to visit the transportation office, making it easier for residents to access basic services.
