Seneca Falls man gave false information to Waterloo police after October crash

A Seneca Falls man faces multiple charges for allegedly giving false information to police following a vehicle crash in Waterloo last month, the Waterloo Police Department reported.

Stephen R. Kennedy, 35, was arrested at approximately 12:20 a.m. on October 16 and charged with False Reporting of an Event in the Third Degree, Obstructing Government Administration in the Second Degree, and Aggravated Unlicensed Activity in the Third Degree.

Authorities allege that Kennedy, who was involved in a property damage crash, initially told officers he was not the driver of the vehicle. However, the investigation revealed that although his license was confiscated, he was actually driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Kennedy was given an appearance ticket and cited for various traffic violations. He is scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court on Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. to answer the charges.
