Checkpoint established under army supervision to combat traffic violations in Khilkhet: ISPR

A mobile check post was set up in the capital’s Khilkhet yesterday (November 2) by Bangladesh Army, Traffic Police and six separate ADA brigades of Khilkhet Police Station to crack down on illegal parking, unlicensed drivers, unfit vehicles, speeding, riding motorcycles without helmets . and illegal licenses.

A total of 92 cases were filed and a fine of Tk 2.22 lakh was imposed in today’s joint operation, while six vehicles have been seized so far for various violations, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.

ISPR also said that a case has been registered against a person for carrying drugs at Khilkhet Police Station.

“In the ongoing situation of the country, the military’s strict stance will continue in order to protect the rule of law, including the suppression of all illegal activities contrary to traffic laws,” the statement said.
