The stabbed suspect is in critical condition

A man has been arrested following the stabbing of the victim, who remains in a critical condition.

Bedfordshire Police were called to Dallow Road, Luton, at around 17:40 GMT on Saturday.

A man in his 20s was detained following what police said was a “targeted attack”.

A police cordon was established on Sunday afternoon and some roads in the area, including Malvern Road, Newcombe Road and Vernon Road, and part of Dallow Road remained closed.

Det Insp James Day said: “We believe this was a targeted attack on a man in his 20s who remains in a critical condition.

“We currently have a man in his 20s from Luton in custody in connection with this incident and our investigation into the situation is ongoing.

“We are carrying out all investigations to find anyone who may have been involved in this incident.”
