Death Penalty Upheld for Kuwaitis and Egyptians in Mubarak Rashidi Murder Case

KUWAIT CITY, November 3: The Supreme Court upheld the death sentences of two men found guilty of the intentional murder of young Kuwaiti citizen Mubarak Al-Rashidi. The two defendants, one a Kuwaiti citizen and the other an Egyptian citizen, were found guilty due to evidence that they were involved in deliberate and calculated murder.

In previous hearings, both defendants, friends of the victim, denied the charges, although they were questioned about the deliberate nature and planning of the crime. The prosecution presented extensive evidence and argued for maximum sentences due to the heinous nature of the crime.

Al-Rashidi’s body was found inside a container in the Ber Al-Salmi desert area, two months after his disappearance. Investigations revealed that he was allegedly killed by the defendants in a camping area in the Karaciğer region. It was reported that after the murder, they transported his body, set fire to the tent to hide the evidence, and one of the defendants later left the country.
