Girl Kicked SUV, Casper Teen Allegedly Stabbed Her With Machete-Style Blade

CASPER – A 17-year-old girl stabbed another 17-year-old girl in the stomach with a machete-style knife on Halloween after police say the victim kicked the other’s SUV.

Casper police said the attack took place in a parking lot on the city’s north side, where teenagers, marijuana and alcohol were gathered together.

Gabriella Kathleen Aultman appeared in Casper Circuit Court He faces charges of aggravated assault and battery on Friday. Judge Kevin Taheri set bond at $100,000 cash or surety.

Court records obtained Monday show the incident happened after about 20 vehicles and people in their teens and early 20s gathered on Halloween night in the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center parking lot on the city’s north side.

An eyewitness told police that some people were in various groups of friends outside their vehicles, others mingled among the groups, and others remained in their vehicles.

Aultman was at a meeting with a friend and “designated driver” and had agreed to give another 17-year-old female friend a ride home in her family’s red Dodge Durango. The arrest affidavit states that as they attempted to exit the area just before 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 31, people, including the 17-year-old stabbing victim, gathered behind them.

The victim, identified as “WW,” told police that because the vehicle was in reverse, he nearly hit others gathered behind and “kicked the vehicle to let them know he was there.”

Aultman, later known as “Bella,” exited the passenger side of the vehicle and produced a long, machete-style knife with a black and red tip.

Police said the woman stabbed the victim in the stomach. The victim grabbed the knife and cut off all four fingers on his left hand as he tried to remove it, the affidavit states.

Alcohol and Marijuana

During his interview with police, Aultman disclosed that he smoked marijuana and smoked cigarettes.

“Bella stated that she was drinking Pink Whitney Vodka and smoking marijuana from a pipe,” the affidavit states. “Detectives were able to smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Bella’s person.”

Aultman told police he wanted to leave at 9:15 p.m. and that his 17-year-old friend, whom police identified as “AL,” was driving. He said his friend slowly backed away as there were several people talking around the Durango. He yelled from inside the vehicle for people to move, the affidavit said.

The victim kicked the passenger side rear door of the pickup truck with his front kick, the affidavit states.

Aultman told police he became angry and got out of the vehicle with a machete extended towards the victim with his right hand. He told police he asked the victim why he kicked the SUV.

“Bella stated that she extended her arm forward, causing the tip of the knife to penetrate approximately 1.5 inches deep into (the victim’s) stomach,” the affidavit states. “Bella pulled her own arm back and quickly walked the short distance towards the Durango. Bella told (the driver) to leave. As they walked away, Bella said she started crying.

Aultman told police he didn’t remember much “conversation” with the victim. He also told them that he was scared after the stabbing because he was now in the court system for underage possession of alcohol.

Emergency Surgery

The victim was transported to Banner Wyoming Medical Center and suffered a “deep laceration to his abdomen” that required emergency surgery to repair his abdominal wall, the affidavit states.

The victim will potentially need more surgery, the affidavit states.

Police stopped the Durango shortly after the incident and found a knife with blood on it.

“AL,” the 17-year-old female driver of the Durango, told police that she was a “designated sober driver” and that she was trying to be careful when she backed out of the parking lot when she heard a thump. He pulled forward and Bella jumped out with her knife in the middle of the SUV.

He told police: “A very short time later, Bella came running towards the vehicle and yelled ‘go, go, go.'” She said Aultman began giving her instructions, mumbling and crying, saying he was “sorry for doing this,” the affidavit said.

The affidavit also includes interviews with six witnesses, ages 18 to 22, who were in the parking lot at the time of the incident. A 20-year-old man told police he thought the Durango “almost hit” the victim

The aggravated assault and battery charge carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The stabbing was the latest in a series of violent incidents involving guns, teenagers and teenagers in Casper this year.
