The suspect had been on the run since the attack occurred at around 13.17 on Tuesday.

Around 1:30 p.m., first responders rushed to Navy Pier after police said a former employee of the subcontractor opened fire on his former co-workers after entering a loading dock near the Sable Hotel.

People were asked to shelter in place while the pier was quarantined.

Police were still searching for the gunman on Thursday.

The slain employees worked at the accommodation and catering company Levy Restaurants.

The company referred to them as “family members” in a statement.

“We are absolutely devastated. Our hearts are breaking for their families and loved ones whose lives have been changed forever,” the statement said. It was said.

Levy Restaurants is a partner of Navy Pier, providing food and beverage services for events and venues.

Police said they believe this was an isolated incident.
