Motorcyclist dies after colliding with minibus in Larbert as police appeal for witnesses

A motorcyclist has died after being hit by a minibus in Falkirk as police appeal for more witnesses.

Police officers were called to Bellsdyke Road, at the junction with Kincardine Road in Larbert, at around 11.50am on Thursday to reports of a collision.

While the 67-year-old male driver was determined to have died at the scene, the minibus driver escaped uninjured.

The road was closed to traffic for approximately 6 hours while police teams investigated.

Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and officers are appealing for witnesses.

Road Police Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the dead man. We will continue to offer support to them as our investigations continue.

“We have already spoken to a number of eyewitnesses but I would like to appeal to anyone who saw what happened or has information that could assist our investigation.

“Similarly, if there is dashcam footage of Bellsdyke Road at around 11.50am yesterday, please review this and bring anything of significance to our attention.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland. 101 Quoted from reference 1269 dated 7 November 2024.
