DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A GL Homes Community resident known as “Dakota” is facing multiple charges Friday after a failed attempt to break into an apartment in search of drugs faced. Morris Connor, of the 9600 block of Brook Isles Avenue in “Dakota,” was released from jail on approximately $20,000 bail.

According to a police report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.comConnor and another person were supposed to meet a woman in Greenacres to purchase or obtain the “weak” substance, which police described as drugs. When no one answered the “barely” door, Connor and another person opened the unlocked apartment door and entered. These men are allegedly seen on security cameras rummaging through the apartment and eventually grabbing a bottle of Clonazepam (a seizure medication that is also used as a sedative).

Witnesses who witnessed the theft called the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived within minutes and allegedly saw Connor Morris attempting to flee the scene. When a citizen tried to let him into the parking lot, Morris allegedly tried to go around the blocking car and managed to hit four other cars in the process. He was eventually handcuffed by the police, who charged him with the following crimes:

“Battery on specified personnel,” “burglary of an unoccupied residence,” “possession of a controlled substance without a prescription,” “criminal mischief over $200 but less than $1,000,” and “officership without resistance and violence.”

Connor Morris was booked into Palm Beach County Jail and later released on $25,000 bail. He is a partial owner of the Dakota home, which the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser said had a total market value of $945,861.
