Cornell suspends fraternity over reported sexual assault investigation

Cornell University has temporarily suspended a fraternity near campus while authorities investigate a reported sexual assault.

The Cornell University Police Department (CUPD) said Friday they received a report from a victim who alleged she was sexually assaulted and forced to take ketamine and other drugs by multiple individuals at a residence in the 100 block of Edgemoor Lane on Oct. 25 or early October. 26.

CUPD urges anyone with information to contact Cornell’s Public Safety Communications Center at (607) 255-1111.

In its warning, CUPD reiterated its stance that victims are never at fault and reminded the community to use safety resources like the RAVE Guardian app and to walk in groups when on or near campus.
