A person known to be injured by police in a shooting in Longueuil

LONGUEUIL – A man was injured after being shot at in Longueuil on Saturday.

Longueuil police say they were notified at 10 a.m. that a man had suffered a gunshot wound on Beauregard St.

Police officers arrived at the scene and found a 20-year-old man, known to police, suffering from serious injuries to his lower body. He was taken to hospital.

Police said the initial investigation led them to establish a secure crime scene on Jacques-Cartier Boulevard. and St-Hélène St., also in Longueuil.

The police canine unit and forensic identification unit were dispatched to support the investigation.

Police are urging anyone with information about the gunshots to contact them.
