Paroled Rapist Arrested for Gruesome Sexual Assault on Five-Year-Old Girl |

Surat: Athwalines police have nabbed a 26-year-old rape convict who sexually assaulted a five-year-old girl while on parole after he was seen on CCTV footage on the streets of Nanpura district.
Convict, Jamil aka Jamu PathanHe was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the sexual assault case in 2021 and was recently granted parole.
Around Sunday midnight, he went to Banarasi Mohalla in the narrow streets of Nanpura, where he saw the girl sleeping in a room with her mother. He kidnapped her and started running through the streets to avoid being caught. While running, he lost his balance and fell to the ground. Police said the girl started crying but Pathan sexually assaulted her.
The entire incident of kidnapping and sexual assault was recorded on CCTV footage placed on the lanes. Citizens who heard the girl crying went out and rescued her. Locals handed over the CCTV footage to Athwalines police.
Athwalines police inspector RR Makwana said six teams were formed and they started searching for the man seen in the CCTV footage. After reviewing 100 CCTV footage, the accused was tracked to Badekha Chakla area and caught.
After identifying him, police found that Pathan was on parole.
A criminal complaint was filed under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita for rape and the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (Pocso) Act.
