The Defendant Who Claims to Be Accused Said ‘I’m Giving You Names’

The trial in the RG Kar rape-murder case begins with accused Sanjay Roy alleging that there is a conspiracy against him by naming senior officers. The case has sparked national outrage since August.

The trial into the gruesome rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital began on Monday, three months after the tragedy. This is a secret hearing held before Additional District and Sessions Judge Anirban Das at Sealdah Court.

Sanjay Roy is the main defendant in this matter. He was one of the defendants who entered the court where his trial was held. When the police took him away, he said in the recording: “I have nothing to do with this incident. “I am being framed by senior officers, Vineet Goyal, former police commissioner of Kolkata.”

“They didn’t let me speak today. “I did nothing wrong and I was charged,” Roy told reporters outside the courtroom. “There are senior officials involved in this. The government is supporting them. They are threatening me,” Roy added, adding that Vineet Goyal and Deputy Commissioner of Special Police (DC Special) were behind the alleged conspiracy.

The victim’s father testified in court

A police source reported that the father of the 31-year-old doctor, who was allegedly raped and murdered while on duty, testified in court as a witness. The case has outraged many, and the court’s decision to proceed with the case points to a broader legal process that will finally bring the young doctor’s killer to justice.

The charges were brought against him on November 4. Roy did not accept the charges against him. He is charged under Articles 64, 66 and 103 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. He was arrested on August 10, a day after the victim’s lifeless body was found in the seminar room of RG Kar Hospital.

A critical development in this regard is Calcutta High Court He instead demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation take over the investigation, which was then in the hands of the Kolkata Police.

The horrific incident of August 9 was followed by strikes and agitations all over the country. The brutality of the crime and the involvement of medical professionals has made it the epicenter of what is now a national debate about women’s safety and the justice delivery system.
