Ahoskie police arrest two men for October murder

AHOSKIE, N.C. (WITN) – Nearly two weeks after a man was found dead, officers arrested two people in his death, the Ahoskie Police Department said.

Ahoskie police said an investigation was launched and officers found Mark Lane dead on Oct. 30 in the 100 block of Snipes Street.

The police department said officers identified Keyondez Brown and Kayla Boone as suspects thanks to the cooperation of the department’s investigative unit, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Special Investigations Unit.

The police department said they were both arrested Sunday.

Brown is accused of killing Lane. Boone was charged with accessory after the fact.

Both are in the Hertford County jail, have no bond, and are scheduled for their initial hearings today.
