Man accused of rape on WSU campus arrested

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita State University police arrested a man on campus on rape charges Monday. According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office’s online booking pages, Mohamed Ma was arrested and booked on charges including rape and aggravated sodomy.

12 News reached out to Wichita State to find out if Ma was a student or employee of the university and to gather more details about the incident.

WSU Office of Strategic Communications Director Lainie Mazzullo-Hart said the university cannot comment on ongoing investigations and that there is no threat to the WSU community.

“…the safety of our students, staff and faculty is always the university’s top priority,” Mazzullo-Hart said. “We recognize that any report of potential sexual assault can be distressing and difficult to process. There are many resources available to the campus community.”
