Migori – A man was arrested in the town of Awendo for allegedly kidnapping his girlfriend’s two-year-old child.

The man, identified as Steve, allegedly committed the unprecedented act after rejecting Steve’s marriage proposal.

Steve caused a stir in both kisumu and Migori counties, leading to a tense search effort involving law enforcement and local residents.

According to Citizen Digital, Steve was arrested after members of the community policing unit tracked him down.

Joseph Opole, head of the Awendo district community policing unit, confirmed the arrest and added that they handed him over to the police along with the child.

How was Steve arrested?

Steve, in his 30s, was arrested at one of the restaurants in the town where he worked as a waiter.

Police said Steve is still in custody but will eventually be handed over to police in Kisumu.

Opole said they had been searching for the suspect since last week after learning that he was working in the town of Awendo.

Elsewhere, a Kenyan man said on Twitter: I feel bad when you text a lady and she replies rudely.

In the messages the man posted, netizens felt sorry for him because the woman of his dreams rejected him.

When the lady saw his insistence, she decided to give him a chance by asking where the food was.

The man was hesitant and stated that he wanted her to choose a place she would like.

The woman said that the young man was a stranger and uninterested, and that he shut her down.
