Three child rapists were executed after the Supreme Court approved the sentence

Three child rapists were executed on Wednesday after their death sentences were upheld by China’s supreme court; This shows that the country has “zero tolerance” for those who harm children.

The behavior of the three criminals, who sexually assaulted and raped the girls for a long time or several times, caused great harm to the physical and mental health of minors, caused serious legal and moral consequences, and created extremely negative effects on society, the Supreme People’s Court said.

In one case, a former primary school teacher surnamed Guo was found to have raped six girls, all under the age of 14, more than 100 times from 2013 to February 2019, and molested three others under the age of 12 multiple times.

Another rapist, surnamed Shang, lured eight young girls from 2011 to 2020, first at bus stops, parks or around kindergartens, and then took them to secret places to sexually abuse them.

During this period, Shang secretly took videos and photographs of the sexual assault and the victims’ private parts to coerce the victims into pursuing long-term relationships with him. Pressuring them, he continued to rape four of the victims for a long time, one of whom fell into severe depression and anxiety.

The third rapist was a farmer surnamed Gong, who ran a small shop in the village. It was revealed that he seduced and mentally controlled a young girl who came to the shop to play in the same village for a long time, and then sexually assaulted her alone or with others.

From summer 2015 to January 2020, Gong single-handedly raped the girl eight times, gang-raped her twice, and also molested her alone or together more than 40 times; This led the victim to slit her wrists and take insecticide to kill herself at this age. 16.

The top court said the convictions and death sentences handed down to three rapists by lower courts should be upheld as they seriously violated the teachers’ code of conduct, caused serious mental anguish to children and even resulted in the death of one of the victims.

He reaffirmed judicial efforts to combat individuals who harm children, emphasizing the importance of protecting children.

The report revealed that sexual assault crimes against minors have increased in the last few years, and stated that in more than 90 percent of such crimes, the criminals are people close to children, including relatives, neighbors and teachers.

Stating that children left behind in rural areas and children with mental problems are more likely to be targets of sexual assault by criminals, the organization stated that the victims are younger and those under the age of 14 have a higher rate.

The report stated that hotels, rental apartments, bars, karaoke rooms and bathhouses are common places where sexual assaults are common, and many criminals rape and sexually abuse children by luring them to the internet.

“Chinese courts have always given importance to the protection of children by imposing ‘zero tolerance’ and harsh punishments against those who harm children,” the high court said in a statement. he said.

While deterring criminals with the death penalty, it also called for young people to improve their awareness and self-protection skills, and to learn to seek help from families, schools and public security units if they experience difficulties.

In addition, parents and teachers should provide children with stronger legal, safety and sexual education, encouraging more segments of society, such as cyberspace administrations and government agencies, to join the child protection team.
