Man who sexually assaulted a 19-year-old boy in Telangana was sentenced to 20 years in prison

The incident took place in Vikarabad district when Prakash, then 19, kidnapped and raped a minor belonging to the SC community. The survivor was appearing for SSC exams at that time.
According to the police, the survivor and the convict knew each other before the crime as he followed her to school and proposed to her. After the girl went missing after her last checkup, her father filed a complaint with the Chevella police.
Police rescued the survivor a few days later. Based on his statement, charges of rape, violation of the POCSO Act and violation of the Prevention of Atrocities against SCs and STs Act were leveled against Prakash, which led to his arrest.
The Special Sessions Judge found Prakash guilty after reviewing the statements of the survivors, witness statements and other evidence. This decision provides justice to the victim after seven years.
