Syracuse man arrested on warrant on DWI charges

A Syracuse man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after failing to appear in court for driving while intoxicated.

John D. Lansing, 37, was taken into custody at the Onondaga County Jail at 2:22 p.m. The arrest warrant issued by Ontario District Court Judge Karle stemmed from a previous DWI case.

Lansing was transported to the Ontario County Jail where he was held in pre-trial custody. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Provincial Court on Wednesday morning.

Officials did not provide additional details on the actual charges.

The arrest underscores ongoing efforts by local courts to address noncompliance with hearings in criminal cases.
