Pittsfield man convicted of rape, intimidation

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – A Pittsfield man was found guilty of rape and intimidation after fleeing to Mexico just two days earlier.

Cesar Lagunas, 51, raped a man and threatened her with blackmail if she reported the incident, according to court documents.

In the middle of the trial, Lagunas fled to Mexico, but the judge ruled that the trial could continue.

An arrest warrant was issued for him.
