KUWAIT CITY, November 14: Director of the Medical Emergency Department of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ahmad Al-Shatti emphasized the vital role of health awareness, first aid training and emergency response in improving community safety, reducing complications and strengthening. social responsibility.

In his speech at a ceremony held in honor of 100 emergency medical technicians and interns on Thursday, Dr. Al-Shatti congratulated the “heroes of medical emergencies” who played a crucial role in these efforts. He stated that more than 3,500 people attended the CPR and first aid trainings held by the Ministry in various shopping malls in October.

The courses were held over 11 consecutive days, providing a total of approximately 140 hours of targeted training, and were held in busy shopping centers in several provinces. The campaign kicked off with a three-day event at Avenues Mall, followed by events at Boulevard Mall and Promenade Mall. It then moved to Jahra Governorate at Slayil Jahra Mall, followed by sessions at 360 Mall in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, and ended at Mubarakiya Market in the Capital Governorate.

Dr. Al-Shatti expressed his gratitude to the mall management and sponsors who helped turn this initiative into a valuable public service for Kuwait. He also thanked emergency responders for their dedication, commitment and dedication in providing these services to people of all ages and walks of life.

Ambulance Officer Abdullah Al-Nafees highlighted the extraordinary dedication of medical emergency personnel in promoting the culture of first aid and raising public awareness. He noted that both the Ministry of Health and the Department of Medical Emergencies view first aid training as a crucial component of public health support provided through public events, workshops for government agencies, and certified medical emergency training centers.

In addition, Al-Nafees acknowledged the team’s commendable role in the recent evacuation of Al-Ahmadi Hospital, where their professionalism and skills in managing a large-scale emergency were clearly evident.

Commander Mahmoud Al-Jamali, head of the Mubarak Al Kabeer Ambulance Unit, praised the training centre’s rapid progress in providing professional courses and increasing first aid awareness to the public.

Similarly, Hawalli Ambulance Area Commander Jarrah Al-Fadhli expressed his pride in the training centre’s achievements, highlighting both the quality and scope of its courses. (KUNA)
