Motorists urged to avoid area affected by water main break in Waterford

WATERFORD, CT (WFSB) – Emergency crews are working to repair a water main break in Waterford.

Police said the outage occurred in the area of Route 85 and the Henny Penny/Oakdell Motel.

The southbound lanes of Route 85 were closed Thursday morning and traffic was flowing in both directions on the northbound side.

They asked drivers to be careful and avoid the area if possible.

There’s no information on what caused the malfunction or how long repairs are expected to take.
