In the 75th year of the Berlinale, US Representative Todd Haynes was appointed as President of the International Jury.


Der Regisseur, Produzent and Drehbuchautor Todd Haynes (63) is one of the assistants of the Berlinale International Jury. The 14th November mitgeteilt.

Todd Haynes: “The Beginning of a Drehbuchautor and Regisseur”

In Los Angeles, Haynes said “with a Bandbreite a new Drehbuchautor and Regisseur – sein Werk ist stilistich vielseitig, aber auch unverkennbar”, at a press conference of the Berlinale-Ntendantin Tricia Tuttle. And also: “Seit sein Debütfilm ‘Poison’ (1991) was a great film and was a great film at the Berlinale, along with the Teddy Award. It was a very successful film, with the International Jury ranking it 75th.”

Nach Haynes’ feature film, “May December”, was followed by the Oscar-nominated film “Dem Himmel so fern” and “Velvet Gold Mine” with Julianne Moore (63) and Dennis Quaid (70). Der 63-Jährige gehört zu den wichtigen Vertretern des “New Queer Cinema”. In der Mitteilung wird is also one of the “kühnsten unverwechselbarsten” Filmemacher des US-Kinos. Haynes is Fähigkeit which provides “complex Characters zu Schaffen” and “a wonderful look for Gender and Identity Geschätzt”.

Haynes is the last of the Schauspies in Lupita Nyong’o (41), later died as one of the US-Berichten’s best names in the new film by Christopher Nolans (54). Die 75. Internationalen Filmfestspiele Berlin, statt 13. to 23. February 2025.
