Death of woman at Miami Hills Apartments is being investigated as a homicide

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Police say they are currently investigating death of a woman last month Homicide at an apartment complex on the south side of South Bend.

The South Bend Police Department said officers were called to the 3300 block of Miami Hills Apartments S. High Street for a welfare check on the night of Oct. 22.

When they arrived, they found 42-year-old Joyce Montague unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead.

Police said that based on the results of the investigation and preliminary autopsy, the case was considered a murder.
