Another arrest in residential burglary on Olive Street | News, Sports, Jobs

The Marshalltown Police Department (MPD) has made progress in an extensive investigation into multiple burglaries, including an Aug. 14 burglary at a home on Olive Street, and two Marshalltown brothers have been arrested.

MPD arrested 20-year-old Ashton Mason Clark on Wednesday and 23-year-old Hunter David Clark on Nov. 6. More arrests are expected as the investigation continues.

Ashton Mason Clark is charged with first-degree burglary, a Class C felony; second-degree burglary and four counts of third-degree burglary, all Class D felonies; and fifth-degree burglary, a misdemeanor. Hunter David Clark also faces the same charges. A Class C felony carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, while Class D carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $7,500 fine.

An arrest warrant was also issued for their father, Giles Evan Richard Clark, 50, of Marshalltown, due to the same investigation. Wanted for first-degree burglary; criminal possession of a firearm, a Class D misdemeanor; third-degree burglary; and possession of burglar’s tools, an aggravated misdemeanor. Search warrants were issued and executed for Giles Evan Richard Clark.
