Five Corning Community College students charged in dormitory attack case

Five Corning Community College students face multiple charges following an alleged assault on two students outside a dorm room in Perry Hall Wednesday evening.

State Police said security cameras recorded the suspects approaching the victim’s room before the incident.

The victims, a male and a female student, were injured; While the man refused further treatment, the woman was treated at Guthrie Corning Hospital.

The suspects, including basketball players Emmanuel Torres, Jalen Zachery and Yandiell Sanchez, were charged with crimes including gang assault, harassment and criminal mischief. All five were arraigned at the Steuben County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing and more details will be released by authorities.
