The attacker who killed the man and injured his girlfriend is wanted: Clearwater police

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Clearwater police are searching for a suspect in a shooting that killed a man and injured his girlfriend Saturday morning.

Around 2 a.m., Clearwater Police Department homicide detectives responded to 2 Fernwood Ave. is investigating the incident that took place at the Washington Square apartments at.

A 51-year-old man died, and his 43-year-old girlfriend was taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital with gunshot wounds. It was stated that the man died and the woman was treated and released.

The unidentified suspect, who remains at large, arrived at the apartment and engaged in a confrontation with the woman’s 19-year-old son, according to a Clearwater Police Department report.

The conflict escalated into a gunfight and both victims were shot.

Detectives do not believe this was a random incident.
