2 people died and 1 person was injured in the shooting attack in Aurora park

DENVER (KDVR) – Two people were killed and one person was seriously injured in a shooting at Utah Park in Aurora early Sunday morning, according to the Aurora Police Department.

The park is located in the 1800 block of South Peoria Avenue.

According to APD, officers responded to a local hospital around 2:15 a.m. for a report of a gunshot wound.

Police spoke to the victim, who was seriously injured. It was determined that the conflict occurred at around 01.55 at night in Utah Park.

Officers responded to the park and located two additional victims. Both victims died.

Police said the ages and identities of the victims have not been confirmed.

There was a large police presence in Utah Park. APD said the scene will remain active for several hours.

Police said investigators believe this was an isolated incident between people who knew each other and there is no danger to the public.

Detectives are asking anyone living in the area to check their doorbell cameras or other security cameras around 1:55 a.m.
