The 15-year-old boy who stabbed his aunt in the head while driving was sentenced to up to 6 years in prison: authorities

A Lancaster County teenager was sentenced to up to six years in prison after pleading guilty to stabbing his aunt in the head while driving, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney.

D’Andre Jennings, 15, was sentenced to two and a half to six years in prison for aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime and reckless endangerment.

Police said on Feb. 2, Jennings struck the victim in the back of the head with a knife while driving on Susquehannock Drive. The assault caused the driver to veer into oncoming traffic before safely stopping the vehicle, documents state.

The district attorney said the victim suffered a large cut on the back of his head but managed to survive. The victim stated that he had no idea why he was stabbed.

Jennings told investigators he fell asleep in the vehicle and had a panic attack before the attack, authorities said. Jennings told investigators he “passed out” and when he woke up the victim was screaming.

Police said Jennings then threw the knife into nearby woods and tried to escape before being arrested by Pennsylvania State Police.

Jennings is incarcerated at the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for February 12, 2025.
