Georgia fugitive arrested in Asheville on drug charges, police say

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Asheville Police Department says a Georgia fugitive was arrested for drugs in Asheville on Sunday.

While conducting surveillance on Klondyke Boulevard around 8:51 a.m., officers made contact with 37-year-old Royce Martin Pouncey in a parked car, the department said. As a result of the investigation, Pouncey was found to have 27.5 grams of meth on a fugitive warrant from Georgia.

Pouncey was taken into custody and charged with felony meth possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said.

Pouncey was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility in lieu of $34,000 secured bail.
