Police say 2 arrested after Roseville shooting and car chase in Detroit

Two men suspected of an assault in Macomb County were arrested Tuesday after leading police on a car chase in Detroit, authorities said.

Around 10 p.m., Michigan State Police troopers on patrol were alerted to a Detroit police car chase. Detroit police pursued a Chrysler 300 because its occupants were wanted in connection with an assault in Roseville, authorities said.

Officers responded to the last known location of the suspect car and located it, authorities said. Police said they attempted a traffic stop but the driver refused to pull over.

Investigators said they pursued but lost the suspect vehicle in the area of ​​Seven Mile and Kelly roads.

Troopers and police searched the neighborhood and found it parked on the side of the road at the intersection of Liberal and Redmond streets on Detroit’s east side.

Police said he approached the vehicle and the two people inside got out of the vehicle and ran away.

Authorities sealed off the area and a canine team was brought in to search for suspects. Authorities said the police dog found two men, one 20 years old and the other 18 years old. Both were arrested, MSP said.

“Both suspects were turned over to the Roseville Police Department,” Michigan State Police spokesman First Lt. Mike Shaw said in a post on X. “We will also be filing charges against the driver who fled to evade police. Great job We were tasked by all three departments to get these dangerous individuals off the street.”
