VMSC EMS and Montgomery Township receive .4 million grant for highway safety and crash care initiative

HATFIELD — VMSC Emergency Medical Services Announced $2.4 million grant award From the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Program.

This initiative, in partnership with Montgomery Township and Beyond Lucid Technologies, will benefit all municipalities VMSC serves in Montgomery County, strengthening regional highway safety and improving post-crash care.

The program will increase safety and care in the communities VMSC serves by:

— Improving Highway Safety: Implementing technologies such as emergency vehicle transponder systems to prevent accidents and protect vulnerable road users.

— Improving Post-Accident Care: Using platforms to communicate critical health information to response teams and provide timely and effective assistance.

— Engaging Communities: Conducting outreach and stakeholder engagement to create a comprehensive, community-wide security framework.

“This initiative reflects the shared commitment of our municipalities, county leaders and regional partners to create safer, healthier communities,” said VMSC EMS CEO Shane Wheeler. “We are honored to extend the benefits of this program to every resident and visitor we serve.”
