Bayonne stabbing leaves man injured; The suspect was arrested and sent to prison





BAYONNE, NJ — Police responded to a violent altercation on East 42nd Street late Saturday night; where a man was found bleeding from his neck and back after allegedly being stabbed.

Officers arrived at the scene around 9:51 p.m. and encountered the victim; The victim was immediately transported to the Jersey City Medical Center trauma unit. Authorities confirmed that the injuries were not life-threatening.

An investigation quickly identified the suspect as Darlin A. Sanchez-Vasquez, 20, of East 42nd Street. Police arrested Sanchez Vasquez and charged him with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He was later transported to the Hudson County Department of Corrections. Authorities have not disclosed his immigration status or released further details about the motive behind the incident.

Last October, Sanchez-Vasquez was arrested during a reported brawl on East 42nd Street. He gave false identification to police, which led to him being charged with hindering apprehension. Sanchez Vasquez then attempted to resist arrest but was eventually subdued and taken into custody without further incident.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fight.
