What started as a peaceful journey for the students took a tragic turn when the bus they were traveling in was involved in an accident near Kakima Market in Mbooni district. Makueni County.

What caused the Makueni accident?

The accident occurred on Saturday evening, November 23, when the school bus lost control and overturned, trapping students inside.

In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.keKenya Red Cross Society Senior Communications Officer Ahmed Munir confirmed that rescue teams were dispatched to the scene and successfully rescued the students.

Münir also confirmed that there was no death in the incident and only 11 students were injured.

Münir said, “A rescue team was sent by the Makueni government. Fortunately, there was no death. However, 11 students were injured.” he said.

The injured students were taken to Mbooni Referral Hospital and received treatment.
