Police say a man was arrested while driving past the scene of a deadly crash in Clearwater

CLEARWATER, Fla. – A Largo man was arrested for driving under the influence Saturday morning after driving around emergency vehicles on a closed road while investigating a fatal motorcycle crash, according to Clearwater police.

Authorities say David Saldivar was driving down Union Street clean water just after 3 a.m.

After stopping Saldívar, police officers noticed signs of disability and attempted to arrest him.

Saldívar then tried to escape, officers said.

He is currently being held in the Pinellas County Jail and faces the escape charge as well as a DUI charge.
