Manassas man arrested for armed burglary after week-long search

MANASSAS, Va. — A 35-year-old Manassas man was arrested in connection with an armed burglary and domestic assault that occurred at the Sudley Crossing Apartments earlier this month, police said.

David Alejandro Marchorro Guerra was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force in Prince George’s County, Maryland, on November 21 after a weeklong search. Authorities issued numerous arrest warrants following the November 13 incident.

According to police, Marchorro Guerra forced his way through a locked patio door into the home of a 35-year-old woman in the 10800 block of Gambril Drive around 10:50 p.m. Allegedly, as soon as he entered, he shot the woman in the face with a gun. While there were minor injuries in the incident, the suspect fled the scene before police teams arrived.

Marchorro Guerra currently faces charges including burglary while armed, brandishing a firearm, two counts of aggravated domestic assault and battery, use of a firearm during a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and criminal damage to property. He is currently being held without bail and awaiting a court date.
