The Lincoln Continental was located between the Royal Inn Hotel and New Jesup Highway by Florida’s Sunshine State Sonar Team on Friday. Investigators said the car matched the description of the vehicle driven by Charles and Catherine Romer, who were reported missing 40 years ago.

“With the help of the Camden County Dive Team, investigators recovered a human bone from the car. Glynn County police said crews are now draining the pond using specialized equipment to find more remains.”

The agency has not confirmed the identity of the remains, and all parties continue to examine the scene in hopes of uncovering more evidence.
