Bedford Hospital withdraws £15 weekly parking ticket

£15 weekly parking fines for hospital visitors have been withdrawn.

People attending Bedford Hospital will have to pay the standard rate of up to £12 per day, which equates to £84 per week; That’s an increase of more than 450%.

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said the change was made due to increased costs for the trust’s rented car parks, lighting, security and maintenance.

It was stated that the weekly ticket is regularly used by members of the public who cannot access hospital services, and this puts additional pressure on already busy car parks.
