Two people arrested in knife attack in Batman

Two men have been arrested following a serious assault in Bath this morning (Sunday, November 24).

We were called to Terrace Walk in Bath at around 2.55am to reports of a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Officers arrived within three minutes of the call being received and provided emergency first aid along with members of the public.

The victim was taken to hospital in critical but stable condition, and his injuries are thought to be life-changing. His relatives were informed.

An investigation was launched into the identities of the suspects and statements were taken from two people at around 04.30 this morning.

The 18-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and the 19-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of aiding a criminal. Both will remain in police custody pending investigation.

Neighborhood Policing Chief Inspector Karen Corrigan said:: “I understand this will be a distressing and distressing incident for the community and I would like to reassure them that this is being treated as an isolated incident and that there is no further risk to the public considered.

“I would like to recognize the work of members of the public and paramedics who provided immediate first aid to the victim before officers arrived, as well as the work of the officers who continued to provide this first aid.

“An incident is ongoing in Terrace Walk as investigations continue and the public can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days.

“If you have any concerns or questions, please speak to any of the Neighborhood Policing Team who will be carrying out high visibility patrols; a mobile police station will be located in Bath city centre, locally referred to as ‘Bog Island’.”
