OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. (WFTV) – An argument over insulin medication led a Florida mother to drown her 14-year-old daughter by holding her head underwater in the bathtub, prosecutors say.

New court records reveal a chain of events that began with an argument after Kelsey Glover said her roommate refused to give insulin to her 14-year-old daughter, Giselle Glover. The teenager, who has type 1 diabetes, was sick, vomiting, not eating and feeling weak. He also had difficulty drinking water.

Glover’s roommate said he confronted the mother Wednesday about her daughter’s need for medical care, but she refused. That’s when the roommate said Glover grabbed Giselle’s hair and held her under water in the tub.

The roommate said she tried to resuscitate Giselle, but Glover pushed her out of the bathroom and threatened her with a hammer. The suspect claims his roommate is lying.

Glover was charged with first-degree murder after the Medical Examiner’s Office concluded Giselle died of asphyxiation and ruled her death a homicide, deputies said.

Family of 14 year old boy started GoFundMe To raise money so he could be buried in Virginia. Her father described her as “daddy’s princess”, a smart girl with a loving heart, beautiful inside and out.

“Without you, we cannot describe in words the emptiness that fills every corner of our lives. “From the moment you were born, you were the strongest soldier God ever created,” he wrote.

She also wrote about the future moments she would lose with her daughter, such as buying her first car, spending too much money on her prom dress, and walking her down the aisle.

“Until we meet again, sweet Princess Giselle, know that we all love you, always and forever. “May God bless you,” he wrote.

In documents filed by the state, prosecutors say Glover poses a threat to society and they want him to remain in jail until his trial.

The hearing of the case will be held on December 4.
