Man accused of having ‘don’t shoot attitude’ at police faces charges: NYPD

BRONX, NY (PIX11) – NYPD officers shoot a gunman Police allege the suspect “shot” at cops in the Bronx on Friday.

According to NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell, the shooting occurred after officers responded to a 911 call regarding a large gun-related dispute at 755 White Plains Road around 3:10 p.m.

“As they responded to the rear of 755 White Plains Road, video shows us two perpetrators entering through a door while our officers got into a car. At this time, the perpetrator draws a loaded 9mm gun and fires at our officers,” Chell said.

Officers opened fire and shot the suspect twice in the leg, Chell said. The suspect was taken to hospital. A gun and knife were seized at the scene.

On Sunday, the NYPD announced that the suspect, identified as Chase Lackard, 19, was charged with possessing a weapon and threatening police officers.

Police Chief Lackard was previously arrested in Manhattan and charged with a weapons-related charge last September.
