Two people were arrested for crimes following a morning protest in Shenstone.

“At around 7.35am this morning (Monday, November 25) we were called to an address in Lynn Lane following reports that the entrance was blocked.

“Several individuals also arrived and began participating in a peaceful protest. Officers were deployed to ensure the safety of employees, community members, and protesters in the area.

“A 44-year-old woman from Angus, Scotland, was arrested on suspicion of locking onto a person or object in a way that caused serious disruption and inflicting violence or intimidation on the person, family or property to force them to evade or refrain from lawful activity.

“A 64-year-old woman from London was arrested on suspicion of locking onto a person or object causing serious distress.

“They will remain in custody. Officers will continue to facilitate the right to peaceful protest but will take action against those engaging in criminal activity.”
