KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 — Police said they rescued a 15-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped by a group of men from an apartment in Division 7 of Klang on Nov 18.

Klang South district police chief ACP Cha Hoong Fong said the victim did not return home on November 16, prompting her father to contact her to return to their home in Taman Kem in Klang Harbour.

The father received a voicemail from the victim’s phone number, confusing him with the girl’s whereabouts, prompting him to report the incident out of concerns for his daughter’s safety, national news agency Bernama reported.

“The voicemail instructed the father to pick up his daughter from Subang, where he was said to have been arguing with a man (the suspect), and provided a location of her whereabouts,” Cha was quoted as saying today.

The father went to the scene but saw that the victim was not there. He later received a WhatsApp message stating that the suspect would release the victim in Kuala Lumpur.

Cha added that the suspect also threatened the father, saying that his daughter would be sold, and that he demanded compensation if he wanted his daughter to return after the father said that he had filed a criminal complaint with the police about the incident.

According to the information obtained, the police raided an apartment building in Section 7 at 23:00 on November 18, rescued the victim safely and detained 3 male suspects and 2 female suspects aged between 15-19.

“Following the initial arrest, police apprehended two more males, aged 16 and 18, in the parking area of ​​a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur at around 1.10am on November 19,” he said, adding that the arrested suspects had not committed any previous crimes. records.

He said that 4 suspects, aged 18 and under, were detained for one day, and the others were detained for 4 days until November 22, and that the incident was investigated in accordance with Article 363 of the Criminal Code.
