Horry County murder suspect did not act alone in deadly 2023 shooting

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Documents obtained by WMBF News shed more light on a deadly 2023 shooting in Horry County.

Records show Branden Huertas was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on November 21. and was charged with murder.

Huertas’ homicide change stems from a fatal incident, police report says Shooting in the parking lot of Planet Fitness on Glen Forest Road in June 2023.

Police say 20-year-old David Roldan-Dimas was found shot twice in his Chevrolet Camaro.

The arrest warrant for Huertas also states that he acted with an unnamed co-defendant. The search warrant also includes physical and video evidence, as well as witness statements.

WMBF News requested more information from the Horry County Police Department, including whether the co-defendant is still at large.

As of Tuesday, records show Huertas was being held at JRLDC without bond.
