Alan Kyerematen takes youth empowerment to new heights with an exciting youth musical concert

Legon City Mall came alive on Saturday, November 23, 2024, as tens of thousands of young people gathered for the Afraranto All-Star Youth Concert. Organized by the Movement for Change and the Affraranto Alliance, under the leadership of Alan Kyerematen and vice president Kwame Owusu Danso (KOD), the event was a groundbreaking blend of world-class entertainment and a powerful message of transformation.

The star-studded event saw exciting performances from Medikal, Bisa K’dei, Wendy Shay, Sydney, Jay Bahd, Sista Afia, Tinny, YPee and a host of talented underground musicians. Famous DJs Toyor, Lord and Shiwaawa raised the energy and kept the crowd enthusiastic throughout the night.

As the concert celebrated Ghana’s vibrant youth culture, Alan Kyerematen took the moment to sum up his vision for the country’s creative industry. Speaking to journalists covering the event, he unveiled the Creative Arts Development Fund (CADF), a key feature of his 10-Point Plan for Youth Empowerment.

“Young people are the heartbeat of this nation and their creativity is one of Ghana’s greatest assets,” said Alan Kyerematen. “The Creative Arts Development Fund will provide financial support, mentoring and technical assistance to our young creatives, ensuring they have the tools to succeed in a competitive global industry. This initiative is not just about nurturing talent; “This is about positioning the creative arts as the cornerstone of economic growth and job creation.”

Alan Kyerematen’s commitment to empowering youth was evident as he detailed CADF’s objectives, including overcoming financial barriers, strengthening intellectual property rights and promoting international collaborations. “Our musicians, filmmakers and artists are among the best in the world. “With the right support, they can drive Africa’s cultural narrative on the global stage,” he emphasized.

Adding to the exciting atmosphere of the event, Medikal and other artists publicly supported Alan Kyerematen and called on their fans to support him. Medikal said, “Alan is my president,” amid intense applause. “He has a good heart for the youth of Ghana and has a practical plan to support us. This is the leader we need.”

KOD, who appeared on stage with Tinny, shared an inspiring message of hope. He encouraged young people to dream big by reflecting on his journey from a young artist to becoming the youngest vice presidential candidate in Ghana’s history. “This fund we plan to establish for the creative arts sector will change lives,” he said at the press conference. “This will allow young creatives to focus on their craft without constantly worrying about how to fund their dreams. I know what a difference this will make in my time.”

CADF’s announcement resonated deeply with participants. Inspired by the demonstrations and leaders’ messages, many young people expressed optimism that the funding would open doors to opportunities. A young musician who chose Medikal as a role model at the event said, “This is what we are waiting for; a leader who understands our struggle and is ready to invest in us.” “Alan Kyerematen has the support.”

The Afraranto All-Star Youth Concert highlighted the Change Movement’s innovative approach to youth participation. Alan Kyerematen and KOD have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to the next generation by combining high-energy entertainment with meaningful policy discussions.

With the success of the concert and the promise of the Creative Arts Development Fund, Alan Kyerematen is setting a new standard for leadership in Ghana. The youth energized by the Afraranto Movement is confident that their wishes will come true within the scope of the Great Transformation Plan.
